EDWARD STACEY THE BLACK SHAMROCK
Eddie Stacey was raised in the hi-deserts of Southern California in the 70s. He was raised mostly by a single, hard working mom and his deliquent friends, but due to having a father who was a sign painter, he had a upbringing surrounded by art supplies and free time. Dads house always had paper, pens and skate ramps, and sometimes bands.
He joined a little hometown punk band named "Cold War" that he was eventually kicked out of, a point of pride to be booted from a punk band, its an achievment.
Eddie went away to college in 1991 and , over time, began creating artwork for some silcreening companies part-time. He would eventually be hired at Alias Distribution who is the parent company for Osiris shoes, Arcade skateboards, and Evol snowboards. Shortly after taking the job he was forced to quit school and work full time handeling a majority of the artwork at the company. Realizing that there wasnt much room to grow as a artist in the skate industry he turned his attention to designing and selling his own tattoo flash.
Eddie designed over 16 sets of flash in 3 years and sold it from New Orleans to Seattle and back down home to Southern California. He was guided along the way by several artists that he owes grattitude to including; Catfish Carl, Jeff Cooper, and 2 Cents. Jimmy bertram and all the guys at the Black Shamrock have pushed him in many ways and helped him to be a better artist.
Eddie Stacey has been tattooing for almost a decade and can't help but feel that he is lucky to have been allowed into a craft that gives so much to those that respect her. Feeling a part of something as ancient and unique as Tattooing is a gift, and one that he plans on not wasting. Cheers
